We love a good museum and we don’t miss the chance to take in the photographic arts. The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts (FMoPA) is located in the heart of Tampa’s vibrant Waterfront Arts District in a more than cool architecturally significant Cube building. Founded in 2001, the FMoPA is dedicated to exhibiting important photographic art showcasing collections The Museum has hosted over 60 major photographic exhibitions. The museum is laid out nicely and makes for a great couples date visit, walking and talking about the fine art on the walls. Check out their website for special exhibits you need to see.
Stroll Hand-in-Hand Along The Tampa Riverwalk
Tampa Riverwalk is a well-maintained pedestrian pathway that runs along the Hillsborough River and connects downtown Tampa with the city’s lovely waterfront, several public parks, and a variety of hotels, museums, restaurants and other entertainment venues.
Top attractions on the Riverwalk include the Florida Aquarium, the World WAR II American Victory Ship, and the Cotanchobee Fort Brooke Park, among others.

The tour is approximately 2 hours and takes guests along “La Septima Avenida” (7th Avenue). You’ll discover a great music venue, The Ritz Ybor where you can catch a show; get your gay groove on at gay nightclub Southern Nights Tampa, or visit the two floor “Castle” to dance the night away.

Honeymoon Island State Park is the oasis that awaits you at the end of the Dunedin Causeway. This beautiful beach park was once home to over 50 bungalows and a premier spot for honeymooners back in the 1930’s. Now visitors come to this location to enjoy the beach and outdoor recreation. Whether you crave a romantic beach day or you want to bond while doing your favorite outdoor excursions, Honeymoon Island is a favorite among local couples. For $160/person you get a private tent and table on the beach, your own personal server, and a gourmet multi-course meal with a bottle of champagne and strawberries. The Evangeline Spa is one of the city’s best for massages. It is part of the lavish Epicurean Hotel, which is owned by and across the street from the wine capital of the world, Bern’s Steakhouse. We did the Couples Massage together and highly recommend it. It includes a side-by-side Swedish massage with Aromatherapy which was super relaxing and made us feel sexy for afterwards! They’ve got a Cabernet body scrub and flutes of Champagne to sip while soaking in an oversized Jacuzzi. The treatment options are customized for couples and can include aromatherapy massages and generally last a nurturing 80 minutes. Don’t miss the muscle-melting sensations from the couple’s rain shower, pre or post massage.
If you’re looking for something more unique, then visit Loews Don Cesar Hotel, the seaside, legendary “Pink Palace.” They recently introduced one of the most expensive, and exclusive, couples massages found anywhere in the world. The “Spa Oceana Sunset Bliss Massage” combines the inspiring sunsets seen off the Gulf waters that connects couples to both nature and their loved one.
Join The Pirate Festival
The Gasparilla Pirate Festival began in 1904 when Miss Louise Francis Dodge, society editor of the Tampa Tribune, and George W. Hardee, then with the federal government in Tampa, conspired to promote the City of Tampa and its May Day celebration. The festival is always the last Saturday in January, a perfect time to be in mid-Florida. By 11:30 am on that Saturday the “Jose Gasparilla,” known as the world’s largest pirate ship makes its way into the bay and then the parade and party begin. Complete with floats, scantilly clad pirate girls with beads (*wink*wink*). Tickets are required for some of the events.

It’s also one of the most romantic restaurants in Tampa Bay. Visit A Local Speakeasy Like "Ciro’s Speakeasy and Supper Club"
Take a step back in time to the roaring twenties at Ciro’s Speakeasy and Supper Club. You won’t find the venue easily, but here’s a tip: the speakeasy is tucked inside the historic Bayshore Royal building. True to speakeasy form, you’ll need to knock — and offer up the daily password — to get in. For reservations and the daily password, call (813) 251-0022. Super romantic and fun; reserve a table with curtains for when you feel the need for some hanky panky. Great date night for Valentine’s Day. Order the “Safe Word,” which is made with Stoli Elit, Curacao, Lime Cordial, Cranberry Bitters, Vanilla, POM Foam. Yum!
We also love Dirty Laundry in St. Pete, a “laundromat” and coffee shop with a secret passage through a washing machine into a stylish cocktail bar. After you take photos in the “laundromat”, it’s time to pick up the payphone to enter the speakeasy. The automated voice greets you and gives you a code to type in. Once you get the code right, one of the washing machines turns into a door, giving you access to the speakeasy.

Don't Be Afraid Of The Local Alternative Club
Eyz Wide Shut is an all inclusive club and experience an exciting atmosphere filled with hot bodies and sexual energy! We are big fans of Le Meridian Hotel in downtown Tampa. It is one of the most unique luxury hotels in the country. Once a federal courthouse, this impressive beaux-arts building is fronted with soaring columns and a grand staircase. Inside is a contemporary ambiance while preserving key historic details. Le Meridien features 130 beautiful guest rooms outfitted with state-of-the-art technology in what were once Judges Chambers. There is also an outdoor pool, exercise facility, Bizou Brasserie French bistro and the Longitude Bar. Try and secure a corner room to get the best views and most room. A runner up contender, or if you’re looking to be on the water, are The Don CeSar, which is pure joy and dates to the 1920s. But back to actual Tampa, we can also recommend the Epicurean Hotel, a 4-star conveniently located option for sure.
